Utopia of AI in Inventive Design

Stelian Brad - Professor @ Technical University of Cluj

Conference hall

8th November, 11:00-11:30

"UtopIA of Generative AI in Inventive Design" dives deep into the next-gen capabilities of Generative AI, painting a futuristic canvas of inventive design. Highlighting the evolution from the artsy vibes of creative design to the groundbreaking realm of inventive design, the presentation vibes with the promise of AI. As we dream of a Utopian society, Generative AI seems like the tech wizard we've been waiting for, but it's not without its quirks. It's like having a super-smart AI buddy that sometimes just doesn't "get it" – missing out on real understanding, intuition, and problem-solving vibes. Enter the "Inventive Design Score (IDS)" – our cool new metric to rate how creative, original, and relevant our AI-generated designs are. The presentation also drops some major hints on how we can level up current AI models to better vibe with inventive design, giving a nod to Human-In-The-Loop (HITL) systems, too. Fast-forward to 2055, and the roadmap suggests AI might just be our co-designer. But here's the real tea: no matter how smart AI gets, the final call, especially when it's about ethics and the bigger picture, is totally a human thing.
